About PARLA
Parla is a spot to celebrate NY-style pizza and Italian-inspired cocktails from the team behind The Smith. Opening this fall on the Upper West Side, Parla is an all-day destination for lunch and dinner, with plans to serve baked goods at breakfast. The square and round pizzas are the anchors of the menu, along with house-made pastas, veggies, and shareable plates created by Executive Chef Brian Ellis. The bar specializes in espresso, wine, and cocktails using a curated selection of amari and vermouth.

Position Overview
The Learning and Development Manager creates and delivers training and development solutions to Corner Table Restaurants. This role will equip every front-of-house and back-of-house hourly and management team member with the knowledge and understanding of our culture to fulfill their jobs consistently.
Responsible for:
- Designs and creates engaging training materials such as workbooks, course props, posters, visual aids, and presentations.
- Participates in determining how best to present training information in a way that creates a vital learning tool.
- Identify and implement education strategies that are closely aligned with the overall objectives of CTR
- Develop a learning experience that is effective and engaging for CTR team members
- Communicates with all departments to manage training schedules.
- Understand and utilize various development methods to suit different learning styles and ensure a fit with Corner Table Restaurants' culture.
- Monitor and evaluate the training program’s effectiveness and success and create a follow-up system.
- Keep up to date on policy changes and new initiatives to ensure training materials are updated.
- Build the appropriate organizational infrastructure and design to support scalable growth.
- Continuously monitoring and soliciting feedback on all training.
- Oversee management and implementation of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
- Track record in designing and executing successful restaurant training programs.
- Strong understanding of learning methods specific to different positions and learning styles.
- Ability to master knowledge and skills of every position in the restaurant.
- Team-oriented, engaging, and energetic.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
- Possess strong organizational and communication (written/verbal) skills and is a creative problem solver.
- Strong interpersonal skills, open to change and works well independently and as part of a team.
- Sharp eye for detail, able to anticipate needs, and always one step ahead.
- Self-directed and productive with a sense of urgency; ability to prioritize and work independently and alone.
- Expertise in Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and competence in the Adobe Creative Suite.
